Caesars Entertainment Corp. and another firm are developing a zip line-like ride between the two towers of the Rio Hotel and Casino, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The project is not expected to be done in time for the summer World Series of Poker, however.
The project is being called the “Voodoo Skyline” and it will send guests flying 400 feet above the ground between the two sections of the massive casino.
“It’s going to be different than a typical zip line,” one of the developers said. “This type of system is viewed as much safer than a regular zip line because you can’t get hung up.”
The hours of operation will be noon to midnight. Tickets will be $25 per person during the daytime hours, while the price will jump to $40 during the night, when all the lights of the Las Vegas will be blasting away.
The Rio is located just off the Strip on Flamingo Road.
The new Rio zip line-like ride is one of a few similar attractions either currently existing or scheduled to be built in Las Vegas.
The WSOP is scheduled to run from late May to the middle of July, while the Voodoo Skyline won’t be completed until late July or early August, according to the Review-Journal.
