iGaming Business – Jimmy Vaccaro has left his role at William Hill US, a subsidiary of UK bookmaker William Hill, to take control of the race and sports marketing division at Las Vegas-based South Point Hotel, Casino and Spa.
According to LineMakers.com, the position was created especially for Vaccaro, who held a similar role at William Hill before his exit.
In his new job, Vaccaro will look after South Point’s new mobile phone app that allows customers to place sports wagers from anywhere within the US state of Nevada.
Vaccaro said: “In the next three years, there will be a whole new wave of operation in Nevada. The mobile app is just the beginning. You don’t want to be the only book in town without the mobile app and have everyone else roll by.”
In addition to working on the mobile app, he will also promote a number of other South Point projects, such as race book promotions and supporting the casino’s online poker venture, which is due to be launched under the in-house Real Gaming brand.
The move will also reunite Vaccaro with South point owner Michael Gaughan, who handed Vaccaro the role of running a sports book from inside the Royal Inn casino in 1975.
