Mobile sports betting and internet poker are great, but where are all the online casinos in America? Several states have now regulated web based casino games like slots, craps, and roulette. And now is the time that industry experts believe more and more states to move toward regulation!
Hello friends! St Patrick’s Day is upon us, and Las Vegas is filled with Irish pubs and parties to help you celebrate! More on that in just a moment. Up first, online casinos are set to explode across America, and that is this week’s big story! 38 states now allow some form of sports betting, and 30 of those states allow mobile and online sports betting. And while some some people don’t like the idea of expanded online gambling in this country, the simple truth is that online sports betting is online gambling! So get over yourselves!
A few weeks ago there were only six states regulating online gambling in this country: Connecticut, Delaware, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. But now, Rhode Island has joined their ranks, bringing the total all the way up to seven. However, many industry experts believe that this year, 2024, will be the year that online gambling regulation finally takes off!
One of the biggest names looking to regulate online casinos this year is New York state. And yes, I know they’ve tried a couple of times over the past several years to regulate online gambling without success, but let’s remember it also took them several attempts to get online sports bet getting past there, too! Other states looking to jump on the online gambling bandwagon include Maine and Maryland, both of which already have online sports betting.
Then there are four states, which all have some form of online gambling legislation in the works… including California, llinois, Iowa, and Wyoming. But let’s just be honest. California’s a freaking long shot. While we wait for online casinos in a America to catch up with the rest of the world, we do have two new online game reviews to share with you, just in time for St Patrick’s Day… you know, if you live where it’s already legal, or you just want to play for free and fun.
Up first we have the 777 Rainbow Respins, a four reel, seven row game from Microgaming with scatters, a bonus round, and of course respins! The leprechaun’s magic hat determines your multiplier, and three three Pot of Gold symbols will trigger the Respin Insanity bonus round! Next we have Finn and the Candy Spin from NetEnt, where the Swirly Spin mechanic sends symbols in a clockwise direction around the reels! There are wilds, free spins, and four delicious worlds to visit. Both of these reviews are live right now on our YouTube channel.
Now, if you’re headed to Nevada (where there are no online casinos ironically) to celebrate the Luck of the Irish, first… I’m jealous, but I’m not going to hold that against you. And second, there is no shortage of things for you to do while you’re visiting, from the parties on the Strip to festivities on Fremont Street, and even parades out in Henderson running from the Friday before St Patty’s Day all through the weekend! Then, in the evenings you can always grab a pint or three at one of Sin City’s amazing Irish pubs, located up and down Las Vegas Boulevard all the way to downtown!
