Card Player – Ultimate Poker, the first online poker room in the state of Nevada, has debuted real-money pot-limit Omaha tables. Those cash games first ran on Wednesday.
The site hit Nevada cyberspace to much fanfare in April of this year.
Right now, the site is offering six-handed tables of $1-$2 pot-limit Omaha and $0.10-$0.25 pot-limit Omaha. More stakes and games are expected to come as time goes on.
Ultimate Poker and the product from the World Series of Poker are the only two sites operating in the Silver State. Their respective traffic has been steady of late.
Only those physically within the state borders can play.
The WSOP site kicked off with hold’em, Omaha and seven-card stud.
In addition to Nevada, New Jersey has legalized online poker. That state is expected to see its games kick off in late November, and both Ultimate Poker and WSOP will be involved.
Delaware, the third state in the United States with authorized web gambling, will see its first games start next week. It will have poker right away.
Online poker in the United States is making a slow comeback after the major offshore poker sites were kicked out of American cyberspace in April 2011.
The largest site in the world, PokerStars, will likely make a return via New Jersey.
