Card Player – The New Jersey soft launch of online gambling is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 21, and a handful of firms have offered potential players the chance to pre-register for accounts.
On Wednesday, Nevada-based Ultimate Gaming said that it was “encouraging” interested parties to signup at UCasino.com, which will offer a wide array of casino games, including poker.
According to a press release, the soft launch trial period is limited to invited players only. The trial period will last for a minimum of five days.
In other words, the trial period could extend longer if the state deems it to be necessary. However, all signs still point to a full statewide launch, with no lingering restrictions, for Nov. 26.
Everyone that is invited to Ultimate Casino during the soft play period will receive a minimum of $5 deposited into their account, with some players receiving up to $500.
Other companies with pre-register options include Borgata, PartyPoker, Betfair, Tropicana and Golden Nugget. Borgata boasts the largest poker room in the state.
Atlantic City has 12 casinos, and only they can run online gambling. However, many have partnered with technology providers in order to bring a product to the market.
The Garden State authorized online gambling earlier this year.
Nevada and Delaware are the only two other states with legal web poker.
