This week we’ve got Las Vegas casino news, as Caesars has officially welcomed the Horseshoe Las Vegas to the Strip! The transformation began several months ago, but now the Horseshoe Casino is back in Sin City! And in the name of tradition, Caesars decided to bring the World Series of Poker back home to the casino!
Hello all you beautiful people out there! And thank you for watching This Week in Gambling, where the Horseshoe Las Vegas has finally, officially opened its doors… and that is this week’s big story! Yes, we already welcomed the Horseshoes return to Las Vegas back in January. You know, when the Bally’s sign started coming down and the Horseshoe signs started going up. But recently, Caesar’s entertainment made it official with the ceremony at the casino, complete with show girls and poker Legend Doyle Brunson, plus gambling icon Jack Binion, whose father was the Texas Gambler who originally owned Binion’s Horseshoe down on on Fremont Street.
As many of you know, that property still stands today, only now we just call it Binions. But back in the day it was Binion’s Horseshoe, the original home of the World Series of Poker! So now that Horseshoe Las Vegas has returned, it only makes sense that Caesars would want to bring the WSOP back home to where it all began! That’s why they moved the event to Bally’s last year, and that’s why they’re hosting the event at the Horseshoe this year, beginning at the end of May.
Also this week, we have a new game review to share with you for the Disco Beats online slot, a three row, three reel, 27 payline game from our friends at Habanero! It comes with Wild and Scatter symbols, along with re-spins and a bonus wheel, plus it features Mini, Minor, Major and Grand Jackpots! Find this review, along with hundreds more, when you visit and subscribe to our YouTube channel.
And finally this week, I wanted to let everyone know that we will be filming in Las Vegas on the Strip starting April 9th, Easter Sunday, because I was too stupid to look at a calendar before I made my trip reservations. But in my defense, who the hell puts Easter on April 9th? Nevertheless, what’s done is done… and we will be in front of the Horseshoe Las Vegas beginning Easter Sunday night, April 9th, and at various spots up and down Las Vegas Boulevard on Monday and Tuesday, April 10th and 11th. So, if you’re in Las Vegas around those times, here’s your invitation to come on down, crash our set, even photo bomb us. Hell, people have been doing it for years without an invitation. Be sure to check our Twitter feed to find out where we will be on which days, at which times… and we look forward to seeing you in Sin City!
