Some Las Vegas icons may not survive the Coronavirus shutdown, as Red Rock Resorts announced their Palms Casino, as well as Texas Station, Fiesta Henderson and Fiesta Rancho properties may not reopen.
Station reported Tuesday financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2020, in which the company explained that “the unprecedented challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic have significantly impacted the company’s business operations.”
Station Casinos had closed 20 properties in Southern Nevada for almost three months following Governor Steve Sisolak’s sweeping Las Vegas shutdown order in March, the Reno Gazette-Journal reports. What originally began as a thirty-day shutdown in Nevada ended seventy-nine days later.
“We don’t know if – or when – we’re going to reopen any of the closed properties,” said Stations CEO Frank Fertitta III. “We think it’s too early to make that decision at this time.”
