Linq Hotel Reopens on Vegas Strip

The latest property in the Caesars Entertainment family has reopened it’s rooms to guests again. The Linq Hotel starts welcoming people back today… although the casino floor has been open since June 12th. Amenities within the complex will have differing hours of operation and some attractions have modified their hours. While The Linq Hotel’s gaming floor is open around the clock, the O’Sheas Casino will only be open Friday through Sunday, noon to midnight and the bar is closed. Caesars will now have all of its properties at least partially opened except the Cromwell, Planet Hollywood and the off-Strip Rio….

William Hill Sports Books Get 6 Locations on Vegas Strip

The Nevada Gaming Commission has approved a number of locations for William Hill sports books at casinos on the Vegas Strip. William Hill will soon begin operating sports books at The Cosmopolitan, the Silverton, and both The Venetian and Palazzo. The Palms and Tropicana sports books also were part of the deal but those properties remain closed. Joe Asher, CEO of the U.S. subsidiary of London-based William Hill, said the acquisition of CG Technology assets (which made the move possible) isn’t as much about expanding his company as it is for getting a bigger slice of the Las Vegas Strip…

Wynn Las Vegas and Encore Aim for May Open

Don’t look now, but the Wynn Las Vegas and their sister site Encore could actually open as early as this month… if (and it’s a big “if”) Nevada’s phased reopening schedule moves along quickly. Wynn Resorts CEO Matt Maddox said that when the time is right the company will probably reopen both of its Vegas Strip resorts together in a limited capacity. Maddox added that reopening ultimately would depend on public health benchmarks set by state officials and by Wynn’s reopening plan that was released in April. “Clearly, we won’t be opening large mass gathering places — nightclubs or convention…

The project could finally provide crucial energy for a stretch on the north end that has been largely dormant for the better part of a decade. Quiet since 2009 because of recession-era construction delays, the project is slated to open in 2020 as the Drew Las Vegas, a 4,000-room integrated resort that will include a JW Marriott and a hotel under Marriott’s Edition brand, as well as a third eponymous hotel, the Drew, which will be overseen in part by former…

MGM’s Park and the Future of the Vegas Strip

Vegas Seven – Jim Murren is playing the long game on the Strip. “We have a very strong feeling of what Las Vegas is going to look like five to 10 years from now,” the MGM Resorts International chairman said recently when describing the details of the Park, an entertainment and retail complex between the company’s New York-New York and Monte Carlo properties. “It’s very different from today—and when this is done in 2016 we’ll see if we’re right.” The Park is a bet on both the great outdoors (the kind of urban walking experience we’ve seen at Caesars’ Linq)…
