Casino Royale Facing Demolition?
Yes, another rumor floating around Las Vegas. This time that the Casino Royale will be torn down and replaced with a 700 foot tall resort. So, is there any truth to the demolition rumors? Well, there’s a little bit of truth in all good rumors, so let’s take a look. First, Casino Royale sits in the middle of The Strip, sort of like a reminder of old Las Vegas. It’s run by Best Western, but it’s a small hotel with only about 150 rooms. Still, in Sin City it’s all about location… and this place has one of the best….
Las Vegas Baseball Throws a Changeup
Well that escalated quickly! Just weeks after announcing Las Vegas baseball was a done deal, and that a new stadium would be built off the Strip near Interstate 15, things have turned once again. And it all pivots around public funding. Don’t worry, the A’s still plan to move to Sin City. However, in order to meet the fast approaching deadline of June 5th (which is the end of the Nevada Legislative session), some things needed to be moved around… like the location of that new stadium. Originally, the location of the new Las Vegas baseball stadium was west of…

Caesars Entertainment announced today that the WSOP moves to the Las Vegas Strip next year! The 53rd annual World Series of Poker will be held at their Bally’s and Paris Casinos from May 31st to July 19th, 2022. Additionally, actor and comedian Vince Vaughn has been named as the event’s official celebrity Master of Ceremonies. Following a successful 17-year run at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, the WSOP continues its tradition as the largest, richest and most prestigious gaming event in the world at an all-new location. For the first time, the WSOP will be held at the heart…
Huge Crowds on Vegas Strip as Recovery Rolls On
The Las Vegas Strip looks to be getting “back to normal” as massive crowds of tourists descended on Sin City this past week. All as a reaction to Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak raised the capacity limit of casinos to 50%. They had previously been set at 35%. Additionally, the Governor is allowing some larger gatherings, including conferences, conventions and trade shows with a maximum attendance of 250 people. Various social media posts show pictures of the large groups of people close to one another on the Vegas Strip. Some were dancing and some were drinking, but at least most were…
Mid-Week Vegas Casino Closures Are Here
Just when things seemed to be returning to some normalcy, word has come of more Las Vegas casino closures. This time, however, it’s only a handful of casinos… and this time they are only closing during the week. Amid the continuing (and growing) pandemic, tourism has not returned in full force to The Strip, so it does make perfect financial sense that properties with less traffic would want to optimize their profits. The casinos not open during the week are Park MGM, the Encore, the Palazzo, the LINQ and Planet Hollywood. The properties are still accepting reservations for weekend stays…
Planet Hollywood to Reopen October 8th
Caesars Entertainment has announced that another of their strip properties will be reopening soon! The Planet Hollywood hotel and casino will welcome guests back beginning October 8th with the gaming floor open 7 days a week. The hotel, however, will be limited to weekend stays of Thursdays through Sundays. Additional amenities available at the property will include Gordon Ramsay Burger, Planet Hollywood Spa by Mandara, the Miracle Mile Shops, the newly branded William Hill Race & Sports Book and more. This announcement follows the successful reopening of Caesars Palace Las Vegas, Flamingo Las Vegas, Harrah’s Las Vegas, Paris Las Vegas,…
