Betting operators to benefit from UK advertising code amendment

Gaming Intelligence – The UK’s Committee of Advertising Practice Code has amended the gambling section of the CAP Code following a public consultation, which will give betting operators “a narrow and targeted exemption” by allowing them to use individuals under the age of twenty-five in marketing communications. The consultation was launched in December 2012 after concerns were raised by online gaming industry body the Remote Gambling Association (RGA), over the extension of the CAP Code’s remit to regulate gambling advertising.
