Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval has signed two new bills that could help boost the US state’s sports betting industry. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal newspaper, the state’s sports betting industry already attracts approximately $3.9 billion (€3.5 billion) in wagers each year. However, the two new bills, which were this week signed into law by Sandoval, could potentially increase this figure. Prison sentence in US online sportsbetting case
From iGaming Business A man found guilty of assisting in the operation of an illegal online sportsbetting operation in the US state of Connecticut has been ordered to serve a 15-month federal prison sentence followed by three years of probation. Mitchell Engelson of New York pleaded guilty to one count of helping to run an illegal online sportsbook in mid-February and received his sentence late last week from Vanessa Bryant, United States District Judge for the District of Connecticut in Hartford.
