New Hampshire sports betting is a step closer to reality after a bill that would legalize the activity advanced to the Senate. The New Hampshire House of Representatives has passed an amended version of House Bill 480 by a vote of 269-82, with the bill now moving forward to the Senate for further discussion. Tribal Sports Betting Discussed in North Carolina
Lawmakers in North Carolina are discussing a new bill that would legalize Tribal sports betting in the state. Sponsored be Senator Jim Davies, S 154 would allow tribal gambling facilities to offer sports wagering, in addition to gaming machines, live table games, raffles and video games that are currently permitted. Should the bill come into law, consumers in North Carolina would be able to place legal bets on both professional and collegiate sports events. Illinois Sports Betting Hopes Rise with New Governor
New Governor J.B Pritzker has raised hopes of legal Illinois sports betting after including $200 million in future tax revenue from wagering activities in his 2020 budget proposal. Pritzker is proposing to legalize sports betting at facilities across the state, including in-person and online gambling. Those betting via the internet would be able to do so from inside Illinois or in a jurisdiction that has entered into a reciprocal agreement with the state.
