Scientific Games appoints former SHFL head as new CEO

Bloomberg – Scientific Games Corp. (SGMS), the slot machine supplier controlled by billionaire Ronald Perelman, appointed former SHFL Entertainment Inc. Chief Executive Officer Gavin Isaacs as its CEO today. Isaacs replaces David Kennedy, who had held the position since November, the New York-based company said in a statement today. Kennedy will remain at Scientific Games as executive vice chairman. Isaacs, 49, takes over as the gambling device industry faces weak consumer spending, casino gluts in some markets and consolidation. Scientific Games amends Panama Lottery deal

iGaming Business – Gaming solutions provider Scientific Games has signed an amendment to its deal with the Loteria Nacional de Beneficencia (National Lottery of Panama) in order to provide the country with its first online lottery game. ‘Pega 3’, a standard pick three game, is scheduled to launch in the country in June of this year. Scientific Games extends Delaware State Lottery deal

iGaming Business – Gaming solutions provider Scientific Games has signed an extension to its contract with the Delaware State Lottery to continue supplying lottery and central monitoring systems. The new three-year deal will begin in February 2015. Under the agreement, Scientific Games will continue to provide a range of services and support for draw-based lottery, keno, video lottery games and instant game pass-through transactions. iGaming Business – US gaming and lottery technology firm Scientific Games has gained approval from the Nevada Gaming Commission for its acquisition of slot machine provider WMS Industries, but social gaming company Zynga has withdrawn its application for an interactive gaming licence in the US state.
