In the face of the Coronavirus, Pennsylvania online gambling and betting on sports set new records! Despite that bit of good news, however, overall income from gaming was down for the state year-on-year due to the pandemic. Total gambling revenue in November amounted to $283.3 million, a drop of nearly 3% from the same time last year. The numbers were also 11.5% lower than the figures posted in October, this according to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. Pennsylvania Online Gambling Sets July 15th Date
Nearly 18 months after the governor signed the enabling legislation, Pennsylvania online gambling finally has a launch date that’s just 90 days away. An announcement from Gaming Control Board Executive Director Kevin O’Toole now says that the “go-live period” for online gaming will begin July 15, 2019. O’Toole’s timeline falls in line with reporting from Play Pennsylvania, which has been projecting a midyear launch for several months.
