Leighton Grabs $2.8b Macau Casino Contract

From The Age – Construction giant Leighton has snared a $2.8 billion contract to build a new luxury casino in Macau. Leighton’s Asian division will build the 450,000 square metre resort and hotel after sealing a deal with Wynn Resorts, which owns casinos in Las Vegas and Macau. The resort will be built on the Cotai Strip in the international gambling destination. Leighton chief executive Hamish Tyrwhitt said the project was part of a broader plan to continue to grow the company’s presence in Asia.
