US casino and racetrack operator Penn National Gaming has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the Tropicana Las Vegas Casino and Hotel for $360 million (€323.5 million). Penn said that it intends to fund the acquisition of the Nevada land-based facility through an expansion of its existing credit facilities and cash in hand. Analysts have been warning for months about the Macau gaming crackdown and a summer slowdown in VIP gaming after officials arrested several local lenders on charges of illegal money laundering. Las Vegas Review Journal – Las Vegas continued its record pace for visitor volume in April as the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority on Wednesday reported 3.5 million came to Southern Nevada, a 3.5 percent increase over April 2013.
