ESPN – Legislation has been introduced in Congress to amend the 1961 Federal Wire Act to ban all forms of interstate wagering except horse racing. The bill, named the Restoration of America’s Wire Act (H.R. 4301), was introduced by Congressman Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) and Senator Lindsay Graham (R-SC) (S. 2159). iGaming Business – The Safe and Secure Internet Gambling Initiative, an advocate for online gaming regulation in the US, has hit out at the introduction of new legislation that would ban all forms of internet gambling with the exception of fantasy games and horseracing. iGaming Business, Senators Lindsey Graham and Jason Chaffetz from the Democratic and Republican parties, respectively, are sponsoring legislation in an attempt to ban online gambling in the country. Las Vegas Sun – Nevada and Delaware’s recent agreement to launch the nation’s first collaborative, interstate online poker zone appears to have drawn a backlash from gambling’s opponents in Congress, who are planning to drop a bill rolling back the legal opinion underlying the recent deal.
