China to restrict games based on gambling & violence
Joystiq – Since China temporarily lifted its ban on foreign video game consoles in January, it was a matter of time before the government offered new rules to regulate console and game distribution. According to a Shanghai government release translated by Games in Asia, those rules will dictate the kind of content that won’t be allowed to be sold in the country, such gambiling-related game features. Atari Games for Real-Money Gambling
Atari games will soon be partnered with gambling and lottery game developer Pariplay to bring the former’s classic video game brands to real-money gambling formats, the companies announced. Atari game brands — including Asteroids, Centipede, Missile Command, Pong and Tempest — will be brought to Pariplay’s iLottery and iGaming platforms as well as its mobile and social online formats. Ladbrokes goes live with Playtech products
iGaming Business – UK bookmaker Ladbrokes has successfully launched the full range of products from online gaming software supplier Playtech across its digital platform. Ladbrokes said that the move to Playtech was part of a “wider revamping” of the Ladbrokes digital business to give customers a better experience on mobile or desktop for its sportsbook and casino services. The successful launch has led to the withdrawal of the existing casino software and games portfolio from the Ladbrokes.com and Ladbrokes.dk domains.
