Ho Chi Minh City police on Monday arrested 28 people in a major Vietnam gambling ring. The illegal lottery is believed to have operated for more than a year. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department busted an illegal gambling ring at a home on the 1200 block E. 15th Street. Detectives arrested and charged 10 people for their involvement in the illegal activity including an 83-year-old man. Detectives also confiscated a little over $4,400 in cash. Officers removed pull tab machines, 13 brown boxes, and some suspected cocaine. Investigators served a search warrant on the home on Tuesday. All of the suspects were transported to the Marion County Jail, except for 64-year-old Judy Buckner, who officers sent to Wishard Memorial Hospital for high blood pressure. Associated Press – A federal and state investigation into dog fighting and gambling has resulted in the arrest of 12 people from Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi and Texas. U.S. Attorney George Beck said Monday the 12 are charged with conducting an illegal gambling business and multiple dog fighting charges, including promoting dog fights. Additional defendants are being sought. Federal and state officers served search warrants Friday in simultaneous raids in Alabama and Georgia.
