Just in time for the holidays, a fresh new set of Las Vegas casinos COVID restrictions have arrived. The Governor of Nevada made the announcement and said those restrictions would go into force tomorrow, November 24th, and past at least three weeks. Naturally, these restrictions do not effect online casinos, which remain open to customers. Nevada Casinos will Suffer Until Coronavirus Vaccine

Even as Nevada casinos fight their way back, the President of the Las Vegas Sands believes the economic hardships will continue until a vaccine is developed for COVID-19. Nevada Investigates Health and Safety Issues

Amid a huge spike in COVID-19 cases, the Nevada Gaming Control Board launched investigations into more than 150 alleged health and safety issues related to Coronavirus. Afterward, three formal complaints were filed. The complaints included allegations that patrons did not wear face coverings or wore them improperly while playing slot machines. Nevada’s casinos were allowed to reopen June 4th after over two months of closure to help contain the spread of the the virus. The Coronavirus outbreak made it feel like a long wait for Las Vegas casinos to open again. But despite a pandemic that is still spreading, the state Gaming Control Board is not reconsidering a requirement for players to wear face masks while at casinos. Casino Workers Unions Want More Virus Protection

All across America, casino workers are asking for more protective equipment from employers, and for new cleaning and social distancing policies in place before they agree to return to work. Two of the country’s largest casino worker unions, Unite Here and the Culinary Workers Union, representing workers from casinos in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, New Orleans and Biloxi, Mississippi, held a video news conference Tuesday to call for all workers to be tested at the casinos’ expense before returning back to their jobs.
