Atlantic City Casinos Set for July 2nd Open

Nearly one month after Las Vegas welcomed guests back, Atlantic City casinos are set to open their doors in time for Independence Day weekend. There is one big catch, however: The properties must operate at 25% occupancy. New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy said casino patrons must wear face masks and undergo some level of health screening. “If any visitor refuses to comply with these simple safeguards, you will be escorted out of the casino,” the governor said. “We are not going to tolerate any knuckleheads trying to ruin it for those who want to enjoy themselves responsibly and those who…

Vegas Face Masks Now Required for Some Games

Players visiting Sin City certainly don’t want to hear this, but the powers that be at the Nevada Gaming Control Board now say Las Vegas face masks must be worn at certain games that do not separate players with plexiglass. Bummer. The order comes down as Nevada has seen an explosion of new Coronavirus cases, and it adds to the existing health and safety policies for all relevant venues. They only way they would enforce a face mask requirement is if new COVID-19 cases became so bad that they overwhelmed hospitals. Control Board Chairwoman Sandra Morgan said she is not looking to change direction, even as the Southern Nevada Health District’s acting chief health officer issued pleas for business customers to wear masks to protect…

The Justice Department has been using every trick in the book to try to shut down online gambling in America. And now that the Coronavirus has created a national lock down, they apparently want to take full advantage. The DOJ very quietly asked Congress for the ability to ask chief judges so that they can to detain people indefinitely without trial during emergencies such as a pandemic. Just as disturbing, they are asking to lawmakers about things like the statute of limitations, asylum and the way court hearings are conducted. The website POLITICO originally reported this, and reviewed documents where…
