Vegas Inc – In an abrupt reversal, Bally Technologies CEO Ramesh Srinivasan is being replaced at the helm by the man he replaced less than a year and a half ago — the same one who recruited Srinivasan to the company, no less. The Las Vegas slot-machine maker said today that Srinivasan, a nine-year company veteran, is leaving Bally and that Dick Haddrill would assume the CEO’s spot May 23. Bally Technologies expands partnership with Golden Nugget
iGaming Business – Online casino and solutions firm Bally Technologies has expanded its partnership with Golden Nugget to become the exclusive enterprise-wide system provider for the land-based operator’s five gaming properties in the US. The new deal will cover Golden Nugget properties in Nevada, New Jersey, Mississippi and a soon-to-be-opened casino resort in Louisiana. Boyd Gaming seals Bally Technologies partnership for slots move
US casino operator Boyd Gaming has entered into an enterprise-wide system agreement with online casino and solutions firm Bally Technologies as part of a move to bolster its slots offering. Under the deal, Bally’s iVIEW Display Manager (DM) with Elite Bonusing Suite will be deployed across 18 Boyd Gaming casino properties in seven US states. The iVIEW DM allows operators to present self-service player-account access, marketing messages and secondary bonus games on the main screen without interrupting play. Bally $1.3 billion buyout of SHFL Entertainment gains FTC approval
Casino City Times – Bally Technologies, Inc.’s $1.3 billion acquisition of SHFL Entertainment passed a mandatory waiting period from the Federal Trade Commission without any concern of antitrust issues. The slot machine manufacturer said Tuesday the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Act expired Monday without any action or questions by the FTC. Completing the waiting period satisfies one of the conditions required to finalize the acquisition. Bally and SHFL announced the merger on July 16. Bally will acquire SHFL at a price per share of $23.25. The transaction still requires regulatory approval in several jurisdictions, including Nevada. SOURCE
Bally Technologies $1.3 Billion Deal for SHFL Entertainment
Bally Technologies has agreed to acquire SHFL Entertainment, a maker of casino games, for nearly $1.3 billion in cash. Formerly known as Shuffle Master, SHFL makes products like automatic card shufflers and roulette chip sorters, as well as proprietary table games and electronic gambling machines. The company, based in Las Vegas and founded in 1983, went public in 1992. In its most recent quarter, about 45 percent of its revenue came from Australia and Asia.
