Doubling Down on Gambling in Atlantic City
From NY Times – Known simply as Revel, the newest addition to this gambling city was going to be different. The emphasis was on luxury, with the Himalayan salt grotto in the spa, the botanic garden winding toward a rooftop pool, the Michelin chefs instead of all-you-can-eat buffets. There was no smoking in its 47 stories, and with floor-to-ceiling windows offering vistas onto the Atlantic Ocean, you could almost forget the seedier streets at its back. There was a casino, but it was self-contained on one floor, as if it were an aside. This was a resort, its promoters said,…

One of them, Bwin.party, is based in Gibraltar, and has inked a deal…
Wall Street: Atlantic City Online Gambling Will be Boon
New Jersey casino gaming is not exactly booming, but Atlantic City online gambling may offer some hope. For six consecutive years, revenue there has been on a steady decline. Its newest casino, the $2.4 billion Revel, just exited from Chapter 11 bankruptcy. And to top it all off, last fall the city, along with the rest of the New Jersey coastline, was slammed by Hurricane Sandy, from which the region is still trying to recover. Prognosis for AC is good, according to Wall Street analysts Last week the East Coast Gaming Congress was held, and it was there that a…
