itWeb Africa – Sports betting is set go get a mobile boost in Uganda as Offsidegaming has partnered with Worldstar Betting to launch an Opera Mini website.
The company has introduced sports betting in various platforms across the world but has now created an Opera Mini site to enable users in the region access the betting platform.
Most mobile internet users still use feature phones in the vast African mobile landscape.
The site is planned to offer sports enthusiasts and brands a chance to enter into the sports betting world.
Offisidegaming will be offering at least 100 live events everyday.
“Stepping in to the African market is a giant leap for us at Offside and we really can’t wait to see it grow,” Offsidegaming chief executive officer Matthew Alexander said.
“Working with Worldstar Betting Uganda on a more in-depth basis is great and we are enjoying learning about this previously unknown market every-day and seeing new trends that will be invaluable to us both.”
The company says that the Ugandan introduction is just a taste of what is to come in the African market for 2014.
The company aims to target the over 200 million internet enabled gadgets.
“We will be launching a number of projects in Uganda, Nigeria and Ghana in the coming months using retail shop network for transactions and adding mobile, payment systems in coming months,” Alexander said.
