SHFL entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ Global Select Market: SHFL) (“SHFL” or the “Company”) announced today that it has begun the installation of its Video Lottery Terminals (“VLTs”) in New York.
“Our first big rollout of VLTs in such an important market as New York is very exciting,” said Gavin Isaacs , Chief Executive Officer for SHFL. This is only the beginning of what we hope to be a very promising future for our slot machine segment in the United States.
The rollout was made possible through a November 2012 agreement between SHFL and SPIELO International USA, LLC (“SPIELO International”). SPIELO International, which has been licensed to provide VLTs, content and services to the New York State Division of Lottery since 2003, will be leasing the VLTs from SHFL and providing technical support for those products as part of a three-year agreement with SHFL, including options for two extensions of two years each.
By the time the rollout out is complete, which will take place over the next few weeks, SHFL will have installed 112 of its Equinox cabinets in five of the nine New York VLT facilities. The facilities include: Hamburg Casino at the Fairgrounds, Finger Lakes Casino and Racetrack, Saratoga Casino and Raceway, Empire City Casino at Yonkers Raceway, and Resorts World Casino New York. This initial rollout features three of SHFL’s unique slot themes: Eureka Gold Mine, Chomp!, and Cats, Hats, and Bats.
