Pennsylvania iGaming has helped generate $400 million for the state. The gambling expansion package passed by the legislature in 2017 paved the way for online lottery sales, daily fantasy sports, iGaming and sports betting which have now yielded more than $1 million per day in revenue.
The analysis of the market by the US gambling news portal PlayUSA has calculated the figure using official statistics for license application fees, and estimates based on online lottery, keno and virtual sports sales.
The state has collected an estimated $23 million from online lottery games, which went live in June 2018. This comprises $19.6 million from draw-based games, $3.6 million from keno and $87,000 from virtual sports. The vast majority of the revenue came from licensing fees.
This includes $128 million from auctions for satellite casino licenses, followed by $94 million from Pennsylvania iGaming fees, despite the Gaming Control Board having not yet set a date for the vertical to launch.
