iGaming Business – The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) has released its first corporate social responsibility (CSR) report, which it said will serve as a ‘baseline measure’ of its efforts in various areas of social responsibility in the Canadian province of Ontario.
The new report will replace various other methods OLG previously used to report social responsibility, which included a number of different progress and metric reports.
OLG will use the new report to address responsible and problem gambling, earning and retaining customers’ trust, supporting staff in communities, strengthening communities, and reducing its overall impact on the environment.
“Each year, through this report, we will demonstrate the progress we are making on these efforts and articulate our goals for the coming year,” OLG’s president and chief executive officer, Rod Phillips, said.
“Ontarians rightly expect OLG to maintain a strong standing as a good corporate citizen and to integrate the values they hold into our culture, policies, programs, and decision making.
“Modernising OLG is about continuing our tradition of community support – and about doing more.
“It will enable OLG to provide additional revenues to the province to help fund the operation of hospitals and other provincial priorities.
“At the same time, it will help to create jobs across Ontario and trigger private sector investment.”
