From iGaming Business – Richard Flint, chief executive of SkyBet, the online gaming subsidiary of UK pay-television broadcaster BSkyB, has confirmed to iGaming Business that the firm has no plans to expand into other European territories.
The company posted a 37% surge in turnover to £155m in the 12 months through to June 30, but Flint insisted that the UK market would remain the focus.
The company has an Italian licence and TV presence in the country through Sky Italia, but Flint told iGaming Business: “We have no current plans elsewhere in the EU. We have gained an Italian licence and we are keeping a close eye on the market there, but have no immediate launch plans. Our focus remains on the UK.
“Our major focus is the start of the new football season, and specifically on making the most of our sponsorship of the Sky Bet Football League. We want to forge strong relationships with the 72 clubs in the League.”
