Online Poker Report – While one online gambling bill languishes in the Pennsylvania legislature, a plan for a new bill appears to be quietly gathering substantial support.
Pennsylvania’s first shot at regulating online gambling came earlier this year in the form of a bill introduced by Rep. Tina Davis. But a powerful committee head recently put the kibosh on that effort.
Now – according to reports from GamblingCompliance.com – draft language for a second bill backed by the state’s casino industry is “making the rounds.”
There doesn’t appear to be much urgency behind the effort, but, with Davis’ bill apparently off the table until 2015 at the earliest, a new bill could still prove to be PA’s quickest route to regulated gambling.
It’s also possible that the launch of online gambling in New Jersey and Delaware – especially a successful launch – could speed up the timetable for a renewed online gambling push in PA.
