Esports Entertainment Group has announced the successfully completion of the ‘soft play’ phase of their New Jersey esports launch. Their VIE.gg platform now allows registered bettors in the state to bet on approved professional esports events.
They are the first operator to be granted the right to launch full New Jersey esports betting. Players can wager on their favorite esports teams in real-time as part of a seamless and immersive experience. Players are able to leverage their esports skills across games such as Call of Duty, Overwatch, CS:GO, League of Legends and DOTA 2.
“We are pleased with the completion of the soft play period, which is a testament to all the hard work by our team over the past year,” said Grant Johnson, CEO of Esports Entertainment. “As the first licensed esports-focused betting site in North America, we’re thrilled to fully launch the VIE.gg platform in New Jersey, one of the largest and most promising jurisdictions for sports wagering in the country.”
EEG has also grabbed headlines outside of their New Jersey esports launch. They recently worked with the Hard Rock Atlantic City to host the first skill-based betting event in America. That event was held in March when over 16,000 fans watched a live Madden NFL ‘22 tournament.
