The long awaited reopening announcement about Las Vegas casinos could come on Tuesday, May 26th. Governor Steve Sisolak has a scheduled press conference to reveal his plans for the next phase of the state’s reopening plan from his “Roadmap to Recovery”.
In has been two weeks since the start of Phase 1 in Nevada, and during that time the Governor’s Office have been monitoring data trends and evaluating potential plans for Phase 2. It is anticipated is that the Governor will address that issue directly during his press conference, and hopefully set a soft date for casinos to open their doors again.
The Nevada Gaming Control Board will also hold a workshop with updates regarding Coronavirus response measures, at which time the Board will consider any action necessary with regard to reopening plans. Casinos are now required to submit their reopening plans to the Board for approval at least one week before a planned reopening.
