Believe it or not, it seems you can open carry a gun in Nevada casinos. But if you do, you may not be welcomed. And a new bill in the state legislature could change the way these situations are handled.
Right now, casino representatives must confront guests with firearms to ask them to disarm or leave. If they refuse to do either then the police are usually called. However, Senate Bill 452 would change all that.
The new bill, MGM Resorts, would end confrontations between guests and resorts staff by allowing employees to call the police as a first option. It would also make it a gross misdemeanor to bring a firearm into a casino.
The bill would also make exceptions for law enforcement who carry guns while off duty, and for other individuals who obtain written permission from the casino or resort. You can read more about carrying a firearm in Nevada casinos at Yogo Net.
