iGaming Business – UK-based interactive gaming company NetPlay TV has reported a huge increase in mobile and tablet activity in its interim financial results for the third quarter of 2013.
Mobile and tablet contribution increased by 171% year-on-year and 6% quarter-on-quarter. Mobile and tablet accounted for 40% of all new depositing casino players and 32% of NetPlay’s net revenue in the third quarter.
Total net revenue for the quarter increased year-on-year by 19% to £6.5 million (€7.7 million/$10.4 million), but this figure was down by 9% on the second quarter of 2013.
NetPlay said that average daily net revenue was up 19% on the same period last year despite the “exceptionally hot weather which led to a reduction in the total number of players during the month of July”.
There was a 30% year-on-year increase in new depositing casino players to 15,566 in the third quarter and a 29% increase in quarterly active depositing casino players to 28,890. NetPlay cited its sponsorship of the Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother reality television shows as the key reason for the spike in casino players.
The company said it is confident of meeting full-year market expectations.
