Mississippi online gaming effort fails for third consecutive year

online gambling 1221iGaming Business – Attempts to legalise online gambling in the US state of Mississippi have failed for the third consecutive year after a new bill died in committee, according to the USPoker.com website.

Put forward by Representative Bobby Moak, the ‘Mississippi Lawful Internet Gaming Act of 2014’ would have allowed land-based casinos in the state to operator over the internet.

Players located within state lines would have been able to access online versions of traditional casino games such as poker, slots, video poker and table games.

The unsuccessful effort was the third consecutive bill sponsored by Moak.

Nevada, Delaware and New Jersey remain the only three states in the US to offer a regulated online gaming service.
