Locaid to support Delaware/Nevada multi-state online poker

LOCAID 1iGaming Business – Location-as-a-service company Locaid has been selected to provide geolocation services for the new multi-state online poker service between the US states of Delaware and Nevada.

The appointment will make Locaid the first company to provide a geolocation service that is compliant with state regulatory requirements under the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement.

As reported by iGaming Business, Governor Brian Sandoval of Nevada and Governor Jack Markell of Delaware signed the landmark liquidity sharing agreement last month to lawfully allow online gaming websites in each state to begin sharing player pools, primarily for poker.

As a result of its appointment, Locaid will enable online gaming operators in each state to utilise its Compliance API in order to follow regulatory requirements for the new service.

Locaid also said that if New Jersey, the only other state to have legalised online gaming, were to enter the multi-state agreement then the Locaid location service within the state could also be integrated.

Rip Gerber, president and chief executive officer of Lociad, said: “We have been plumbing the mobile location systems with carriers, operators and regulators for years to reach this landmark accord, and we congratulate Nevada and Delaware in delivering a secure, customer-friendly geolocation compliance approach that can cross state lines.

“We look forward to working with additional state regulatory teams and gaming operators as they onboard this year.

“And if New Jersey joins the pact, our location service currently deployed in the Garden State will seamlessly integrate.”
