Fontainebleau is hosting the first-ever PPA Tour Las Vegas Pickleball Cup with a Charity Pickleball Tournament benefiting Discovery Children’s Museum. The sports has been growing in popularity over the years, with many Americans embracing the activity as a form of exercise and recreation.
The Pickleball Cup will benefit Discovery Children’s Museu, and will begin Tuesday, August 27th at 7 pm inside the resort’s Royal Ballroom. Proceeds from the tournament will directly benefit the Museum’s STEAM educational programs, ensuring that children from all backgrounds have access to educational and aspirational learning experiences.
Play will continue through Sunday September 1st, as Fontainebleau Las Vegas transforms into the ultimate pickleball destination for the Strip’s first-ever PPA Tour event. The six-day tournament will host both professional and amateur events in the resort’s 105,000-square-foot Royal Ballroom
Anyone from first-timers to pros are encouraged to participate in the event. Players looking to compete in the inaugural Las Vegas Pickleball Cup at Fontainebleau Las Vegas can register online. Registration is $95 with a $40 event fee per each event entry.
Pickleball is a racket or paddle sport in which two players or four players use a smooth-faced paddle to hit a perforated, hollow plastic ball over a 34-inch-high net until one side is unable to return the ball or commits a rule infraction. Pickleball can be played both indoors and outdoors.
