Intralot was selected following a “competitive tender process” through its participation as a major shareholder in Taiwanese joint venture LotRich Information. The contract will commence at the beginning of 2014 and run until the end of 2023.
Under the terms of the deal, Intralot will provide all of the necessary software and hardware for the Sport Lottery. This will include the LOTOS Horizon platform, B-On platform and iFlex betting platform – all of which will operate on Intralot’s central system, LOTOS O/S.
In addition, Intralot will install 1,200 Photon terminals in point-of-sale sites countrywide and 1,200 LOTOS Horizon Multimedia Controllers for the display of betting information. Intralot will also offer software maintenance, on-site system support and various repair services.
“This new 10-year contract that adds to our portfolio of contracts in the country following the 10-year technology contract that we signed in May with ChinaTrust Commercial Bank, which has received the license to operate the Public Welfare Lottery, will further strengthen our leading position in the country and the wider Asian region,” Marios Mitromaras, Intralot’s general manager for Asia and chairman of LotRich, said.
The TSLC added: “Having a technical partner such as Intralot helps TSLC to advance sports betting in Taiwan. By providing better and flexible technology services, TSLC will be able to provide better services to the locals and believes that the sports betting market in Taiwan will have future growth continuously under TSLC’s operation and Intralot’s technology support.”
