Gambling News from Colorado, Oklahoma, Kentucky & Montana

We have a week full of gambling news to cover, with sports betting news in Colorado and betting kiosks rolling out in Montana! Also, as betting on horses thrives in Kentucky, some there have a “moral objection” to betting on sports! Plus, tribal gaming news from Oklahoma and Chinese hackers hit online gambling sites!

Hello people, and thanks for joining me on on another stroll through the gambling news. Although this week we don’t have a big story, just a bunch of little ones! So let’s get right into it with betting on sports in Colorado!

Seven licenses for seven casinos have been approved so far, although there were about thirty-odd applications submitted. My guess is more applications will be approved as the state rushes headlong toward their May 1st sports betting launch date.

Meanwhile a fight between tribal gaming interests and the governor has really heated up and Oklahoma, where a dispute over state gaming compacts has escalated to legal action and led one judge there to ask: Hey! Can’t we all just get along?! That judge has now ordered all parties to attend mediation to work out their differences. And once they settle the dispute over the state gaming compact, well, then they can work on who gets custody of the kids.

Also in Kentucky, gambling news finds the topic of sports betting has completely divided the state legislature. In fact there hasn’t been this much division in the state since the great debate of 2004 over cousins and marriage. Believe it or not some politicians in the state actually oppose gambling on sports for “moral reasons”. Right! This coming from a state that practically invented gambling on horses! So, hypocrisy in politics?! Shocking! I know!

And as it appears special interest in Kentucky are paying off politicians to protect their cash cow… or cash horses as the case may be… sports betting kiosks are actually rolling out in the state of Montana early next month. Not too shabby for a state that doesn’t even have a professional sports team.

Chinese hackers are back at work, targeting online gambling sites! More on that in just a moment, but I wanted to tell you about a brand new game review we have about a great slot machine from our friends at Aristocrat: it’s Wonder 4 Spinning Fortunes, where they have combined Whales of Cash Deluxe, Brazil Gold, Wild Lepre’Coins and Buffalo Gold into the same game! Players choose which combinations they want to play and spin their way to free games, super free games and progressive jackpot wins!

You can find the full review and gambling news when you visit our YouTube channel. And finally this week, Chinese hackers are attacking online gambling sites in Europe, Asia and the Middle East… stealing player databases and even source code! We at This Week in Gambling, however, are not too concerned about this. After all, we’re in North America… there haven’t been any attacks here. And what could Chinese hackers possibly want to do with an online gambling videos…
