DraftKings submitted paperwork this month seeking a Pennsylvania gambling license… actually, two licenses. The first to become a sports betting operator, and the second to become an interactive gaming operator. Both of their applications can be found on the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board website.
These licenses are the type sought by companies who partner with casinos, just like the ones sought by FanDuel, William Hill, Betfair and Stars Group… to name a few. These licenses would allow DraftKings to do is partner with a casino to offer both online gambling and sports betting. In the case of sports betting, there are only a few partners to choose from. There are four casinos that have yet to apply for a license
DraftKings told the Legal Sports Report website that they speak to many companies about various matters of business, and that it was not their policy to “…discuss the specifics of any of those discussions.”
