15 States Join DOJ Online Gambling Lawsuit
Just two months after the Department of Justice announced it was changing it’s opinion on the Wire Act, 15 states and the District of Columbia are set to join the DOJ online gambling lawsuit Additionally, New Jersey is asking the court for a Declaratory Judgment that the Wire Act only applies to sports betting, not to online gambling or poker. Justice Department Sued Over Wire Act Opinion
The Justice Department sued over their new Wire Act opinion which threatens online gambling interests. One state lottery has already filed suit in US District Court challenging the DOJ opinion.
