Dream Las Vegas Becoming a Nightmare?
We recently visited the (supposed) future home of the Dream Las Vegas. We saw a lot of dirt, a chain link fence, and some construction equipment. But other than that, the site (and the project) appear to be dead in the desert. Just a short walk from Mandalay Bay, or a short cab ride from Allegiant Stadium, Dream Las Vegas sits on a vacant 5 acre parcel on the the south end of the Boulevard that was acquired in collaboration with Contour Real Estate back in February 2020. Most people were a bit upset when they announced that the Mirage change to Hard Rock would mean an end to the popular volcano attraction. The tension only grew when they learned that the iconic volcano would make way for the guitar shaped hotel that Hard Rock is famous for. Now things have gotten a bit sticky. It seems that this transition… this Mirage change to Hard Rock Casino… will once again be delayed. Back in December, we reported that the transformation of the property had been pushed back to 2025. And now, just over six months later, that transition…
Fontainebleau Las Vegas Catches Fire
The smoke caught everyone’s attention at first. The brand new, yet-to-open Fontainebleau Las Vegas was burning? Talk about your bad luck! After sitting empty for over fifteen years and countless delays, could the resort be destroyed before it ever welcomes a guest? Well, let’s slow things down a bit. Yes, there was a fire at Fontainebleau Las Vegas. And yes, everyone up and down The Strip saw the smoke. But the fire was contained to some construction materials on the roof. And truth be known, this was actually a positive for the resort. First of all, this was a two-alarm…
