The High Roller Las Vegas was not the first observation wheel planned for the city. The original Las Vegas Super Wheel was never actually built, and now all that remains of the planned Skyvue Wheel sits in a vacant lot across from Mandalay Bay on the south end of The Strip. Las Vegas Sidewalk Vendor Ban

Ever get a bit annoyed by all the sales people on the Strip? Well, a new Las Vegas sidewalk vendor ban could help ease some of that. Clark County commissioners have approved a new ordinance which prohibits sidewalk sales people within 1,500 feet of resorts, large sports arenas, most convention centers, and the Welcome to Las Vegas sign! The Nevada Resort Association has also been concerned about this issue, and they’re watching the Las Vegas sidewalk vendor ban with interest. Las Vegas Strike Looms Large

The team at This Week in Gambling will be headed to the Global Gaming Expo next week, even as the threat of a Las Vegas strike hands over the city. Last month both the culinary workers union and bartenders union authorized a strike after if necessary. These unions represent well of over 50,000 Las Vegas employees, and they’re seeking a new five-year contract with better wages, more benefits, and profit sharing at the major resorts.
