Press of Atlantic City – As Internet gambling gets off the ground in New Jersey, one local company previously unfamiliar with online betting has found a way to become part of the action.
Philadelphia-headquartered KGM Gaming, with offices in Pleasantville, has been involved in Atlantic City’s brick-and-mortar market since 2003 as a supplier and distributor of gambling machines and a manufacturer of casino chairs, slot bases, signage and other equipment.
This week, the company forged a relationship with gaming giant Caesars Interactive Entertainment Inc., the online gambling arm of Caesars Entertainment Corp., helping to offer online betting through the company’s Caesars and Harrah’s properties. KGM will now provide the remote gambling server and several casino games on CaesarsCasino.com and HarrahsCasino.com in conjunction with partners at Spin Games.
“We were wondering what this was going to do to New Jersey. We saw an opportunity to be involved, and we’re excited,” said Jason Peters, president of KGM Gaming. “We think it helps us to be local.”
Many large Internet gambling companies are based overseas, but Peters said he believes the company is at an advantage by being located in the region. That means KGM understands the demographics of players and what will be appealing to the market.
“We’re in a unique position. We understand the U.S. market with respect to content,” Peters said.
