Irish independent bookmaker Boyle Sports has agreed a deal to become a sponsor of the Irish Greyhound Derby through to 2016. Boyle Sports struck the initial three-year deal with the Irish Greyhound Board governing body. Under the agreement, Boyle Sports will also serve as the official betting partner of the IGB.
In addition, the bookmaker will continue its support of next month’s Race of Champions at Kingdom Stadium, Tralee. The IGB deal comes shortly after Boyle Sports served as the title sponsor of the 2014 Irish Grand National horse racing event.
Boyle Sports owner John Boyle said: “Every year we examine ways of increasing our sponsorship portfolio and when the IGB kindly approached us we had little hesitation in reaching an agreement. By becoming the official betting partner of the IGB, it means that we will be extending our product offering and enhancing the service to our customers.”
“We have already invested in key staff appointments in order to fulfill this commitment. This is a further reflection of our desire to support major sports in Ireland and together with our two recent flagship horse racing sponsorships means that we are reinvesting more money into Irish sports than ever before.”
