Las Vegas Tribal Gaming has been in the headlines a lot this past year. First, it was Mohegan Gaming that agreed to run the casino at the new Virgin Hotel located where the Hard Rock used to be. Then, the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians snapped up the Palms Hotel and Casino just last month.
Now, the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation of North Dakota, collectively known as the Three Affiliated Tribes, have purchased a large property just off the Vegas Strip. The group said that they have the option of building most anything on the nearly 9 acres of land, from just a parking lot all the way to a full resort casino.
The Tribal Gaming group paid $12 million for the property, which is located slightly off The Strips south end near the Mandalay Bay, and fairly close to the new NFL stadium recently build for the city’s football team. A spokesperson for the Tribe stated that they are still in discussions with developers about what to do with the land, and that there has been “Nothing beyond” talks at this point.
This may not be the last Las Vegas Tribal Gaming deal we see, as there are also rumors of Seminole Gaming having an interest in establishing a presence in Nevada.
