iGaming Business – Online gaming operator 32Red has agreed to become the front-of-shirt sponsor of Scottish League One third-tier side Rangers FC. The deal will run for three years, from 2014-15 until 2016-17.
The operator will benefit from branding on the front of players’ home and away jerseys. 32Red will replace cider brand Blackthorn as the club’s front-of-shirt sponsor.
In addition, 32Red will also benefit from branding inside the club’s Ibrox Stadium, which has a capacity of 50,987. The operator will also have access to branding opportunities across the club’s various digital and media platforms.
Rangers, which will compete in the Scottish Championship next year after finishing as champions of League One, was previously one of the main forces in Scottish football before suffering financial problems in 2012.
Despite being liquidated and forced to relaunch in the Scottish Football League’s Third Division, the club retains a strong supporter base and regularly attracts bumper crowds at Ibrox.
“We are delighted to be working with Rangers Football Club and look forward to being part of the continued rise and return of the Club,” 32Red’s chief executive officer Ed Ware said.
“32Red has a history of successful football club sponsorship deals and we look forward to the next three seasons and our new and proud association with a club with such heritage and potential.”
Graham Wallace, chief executive of Rangers, added: “We are delighted to announce today a three-year shirt sponsorship deal with 32Red, the UK’s premier online casino company.
“We look forward to working closely with them over the next three seasons in a partnership that we believe will be hugely beneficial to both parties.”
